Because of the number of teams that took part, the competition rules state that another team will be able to attend the national final in Tenerife. As a result, "Soto Tech" will be joined by the team that took second place, "Veleta Team" from secondary school IES Veleta, who were given their prize by the University's Vice-Dean of Sciences, Ana García. The vice-chancellor of the PTS, Ignacio Molina, handed over the prize for Robot Performance, which also went to "Veleta Team".

A number of other prizes were also awarded. José Antonio Aparicio, provincial delegate of Andalusia's Regional Ministry of Finance, presented the prize for Best Science Project to "Hipolego", the team from IES Hiponovo in Montefrío. Alejandro Pérez-Hidalgo Garach presented the Telefónica Foundation prize for Best Robot to "Cullar Lab" from IES Gregorio Salvador in Cúllar. The provincial coordinator of the Andalusian Youth Institute, Guillermo Quero, gave the Entrepreneurship prize to "Veletronic", another team from IES Veleta. Sergio Delgado from Robotix presented the Rising Stars award to "Lego", the team from CEIP Sierra Elvira. Merce Cepeda from the Scientia Foundation handed over the Core FLL Values award to "Antivirus" from CEIP Atalaya, and Jesús Quero presented the Best Coach award to "Los Leones" from IES La Paz.

The aims of the FLL are to encourage young people to follow a career in science, and to boost their innovativeness and creativity, as well as to promote entrepreneurialism, teamwork and the development of skills and knowledge in the fields of science and technology.
