Call for Entries for the 15th Health Science Prize

The call for entries for this year’s Health Science Prize has been announced by the Caja Rural de Granada Foundation and the Granada Health Science Technological Park (PTS) Foundation. The annual 25,000-euro prize, now in its fifteenth year, is given in recognition of the work done by biohealth researchers and is considered an extremely prestigious award amongst the scientific community. Previous winners include María Blasco, Valentín Fuster, Eduard Batlle and Manel Esteller.

The prizes recognise research and excellence in the scientific community and support biohealth research as a model for economic development. The topics for which prizes are awarded are the same as the priority lines of research at the PTS: 

- Regenerative medicine and gene therapy

- Molecular oncology and cancer genomics

- Genomics, proteomics and pharmacogenetics

- Immunology and immunopathology

- Molecular parasitology

- Neurosciences

- Nutrition, nutrigenomics and molecular endocrinology

- Biotechnology and new therapeutic targets

- Cardiovascular disease

The deadline for entries is 5 April. The terms and conditions can be found at www.fundacioncrg.com and www.ptsgranada.com. The names of the prizewinners will be announced in the second quarter of the year and a formal awards ceremony will be held in the Caja Rural auditorium in the city of Granada.
