CMAT 061 Emergencies

In addition to the University Hospital, the healthcare area of the PTS is home to the Advanced Multifunctional Centre for Simulation and Technological Innovation (CMAT), which is run by the IAVANTE, part of the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia,

CMAT is the only centre of its type in Europe dedicated to the development and training of healthcare professionals using the latest technologies in simulation and robotics. It is also the ideal workbench from which to test and validate innovative technologies and methodologies, creating virtual environments and new tools for communication and access to information which can be used for teaching purposes and applied to the Andalusian Public Healthcare System.

CMAT is also home to the largest and best equipped Emergency Coordination Centre (CCU) in Andalusia, which was set up there by the region´s Public Enterprise for Health Emergencies (EPES), www.epes.es, The Centre is equipped with an information system which uses EPES´s own software application, with a total of 60 multifunctional workstations. The application has been designed to be available at all times and can be run 24 hours a day, even when flaws occur in some of its components. Such flaws are automatically detected and corrected. Granada´s provincial emergency ambulance service, 061, is also run from the CMAT building.
