Centre of Excellence for Research and Development

CIDAF is a Centre of Excellence for Research and Development sponsored by the University of Granada and the Department of Innovation Government of Andalusia, whose primary mission is the transfer of knowledge generated by research groups working in the field of Food Nutraceuticals and functional, in collaboration with food companies.


Generate new scientific knowledge oriented transferable utility applications in the design, production and characterization of foods and nutritional supplements, safe and healthy, addressing all stages of R & D and transferring the results to the productive sector to generate value added.

Areas of Activity:

  • Characterization, Quality and functional food.
  • Bioactivity of food constituents.
  • New technologies of production and conservation functional foods and nutraceuticals.
  • Law and marketing support.


The team currently consists of CIDAF by researchers at the University of Granada. It is planned to incorporate new members and prestigious research groups in the field of functional foods and nutritional supplements, to develop their activity in the areas of:
